Amiel Matthews
Amiel has recently relocated to Brisbane after performing around Adelaide and South Australia for over 15 years. His skills as a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist have seen him supporting bands such as The Butterfly Effect, Shihad and Taxiride. In 2005, Amiel’s band LastMinute-Ville released the EP “Cognition” to critical acclaim. The band received commercial radio airplay on Nova FM, Power FM and Three D Radio along with invitations to perform at both the Wildaloo and Fuse festivals.
Highlights of Amiel’s cover music career include Stamford Grand, The Wakefield and Hotel Crown residencies, along with other jam packed Saturday nights at venues across South Australia. He can now be found playing acoustic solo shows around the greater Brisbane area.
Amiel has extensive experience in both guitar teaching and band coaching. His many years of experience include teaching positions at Seaford High School (SA), Findon High School (SA) and Investigator College (SA), along with private guitar teaching.
Having backpacked around the globe with his guitar under one arm, Amiel has found music to be an international language – anyone who is willing to learn is setting themselves up for life time of enjoyment.
