Performing as part of a vocalist/instrumentalist duo can provide a wealth of experience and skills that can see you entertaining crowds and even get paid for what you love to do. This workshop is an introduction to playing in a duo and will give you a taste for what it is like. You will meet like-minded people who are interested in collaborating with you, and who knows? You might get onto something really special.

This workshop will welcome strictly five vocalists and five guitarists (first in, best dressed!). You will be asked to learn all five songs in the list ahead of the workshop. These song selections have been chosen to suit a wide range of abilities and interests.

When you arrive at the workshop, each vocalist will be paired with their own guitarist and you will move off into individual rooms to jam on the songs. Together with your partner, you will choose your favourite of the five songs and perform the song to the rest of the group in the second half of the workshop. Your duo will have the assistance of Emma (voice coach), who will offer each duo feedback and advice. It is encouraged that if you enjoy the experience of collaborating with your partner that you meet up and continue jamming in your own time!

A special note for the guitarists in attendance – please make sure you have a capo with you on the day.

Workshop For All Musicians

Would you like to write your own music? It isn’t as difficult as you may think. This workshop is designed to explore some of the easiest methods to create rhythm, harmony and melody from scratch. No prior knowledge is necessary as all reference material will be provided. You should finish this workshop with a solid grasp of how to create your own music in any style you like.

Aimed at all levels.

No instrument necessary. Bring a notebook and pencil.

As our workshops often book out and people are turned away, we maintain the following workshop cancellation policy:

For a booking to be cancelled we must receive notice by 5 pm THURSDAY the week of the workshop. 

Where a make up lesson was used to book, it will be reissued.

Where cash is paid to book, it will be refunded.
