Hosted by Matt

Travis Picking is a unique and distinct guitar style that allows a single guitarist to play multiple parts at once.

This style creates incredible independence most notably exhibited by its creator, Meryl Travis and his contemporaries, such as Chet Atkins.

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of thumb independence and how to apply rhythms to melody with the remaining fingers. With these tools, you will be able to play fingerstyle arrangements of popular tunes and rhythmic patterns over simple chord progressions.
